Pirelli is the world’s fifth largest operator in terms of turnover on the tire market, with levels of profitability among the highest in the sector.
The company describes itself as a “pure tyre” company that specializes in high-end and high-performance products. Pirelli tires are today seen as synonymous with quality, emotion and ultimate performance, with 20 factories in 12 countries around the world.
Pirelli makes replacement and original equipment (OE) tires for passenger, motorsport, industrial, and commercial vehicles; motorcycles; and farm. Pirelli tires are OE on certain models of Maserati, Lamborghini, and Porsche.

Recently, Pirelli’s motorsport director Paul Hembery says changes in the tires are planned for next year. They will be boxier for improved wear in 2012. “The shape, yes [will change]. To get better wear on the shoulder. It’s hard to quantify by how much it’s going to change,” Hembery told AUTOSPORT.
For passenger cars and minivans, Pirelli makes an impressive line of maximum performance, touring and winter tires: Pirelli Cinturato, Pirelli Eufori and the P series.
For SUVs and trucks, the Pirelli P-Zero, Scorpion, and Winter Carving Edge are the top models.
FUN FACTS: Pirelli publishes an annual calendar as corporate gifts and for celebrity VIPs. The calendar usually features supermodels’ glamour shots, with varying degrees of nudity. Being featured on Pirelli calendar is considered a prestige for photographic models and photographers.
